Supplies

So, clearly, I'm going to run out test strips and lancets before my next appointment in September, as I only have 100 of each (technically a few more lancets, because some came with my glucometer), but I've been testing 3x per day instead of my doctor-spoken 3x per week or even the instructions on the prescription of 1x per day. Four for the Nacho Experiment.

Nacho sidenote: Part of what I'm curious about is how I react to specific things, so where I would typically test in the morning, two hours after first meal, and then two hours after last meal/snack, if there's something specific I want to know about -- like a small Nacho Supreme from Taco John's at the end of the night, I'll test just before and then the 2 hours after. Sometimes it works out that the thing I'm curious about is something I can break my morning fast on (like today on my day off I made the admittedly poor choice to have a Nestle Drumstick (Ice cream cone with the ice cream part coated in chocolate and nuts), and then my regular 2-hours-later test showed just the change from that, but that's not always the case.

And in the case of the nachos, I'm hoping for a day that I can kind of duplicate the experiment, only adding some exercise before the two-hour test, so I can maybe get a better handle on how food/exercise work together to affect blood sugar. /sidenote

I guess this means it's really important to not fall into my typical "I'll eat this one thing with minor variations until I run out of it" habit so that I can compile plenty of data to figure out what the best things for me are once I'm out of supplies.
